How much?
$15, or $10 concession. Includes a drink or a snack.
How do I pay?
Tap and go with your card or phone.
Do I need to book?
No, just walk up and register on the night.
Is it for beginners or experienced players?
Both. All levels welcome.
Can kids come?
Under-18s are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
How long are the games?
3+2 blitz: 3 minutes each, plus 2 seconds added after every move.
How long does the tournament take?
Generally an hour or less, usually about five games.
Who will I play?
Each round you're paired with someone on a similar score. When numbers are small, it switches to making sure everyone plays everyone.
How is it scored?
A win is 1 point and a draw is half a point. Players on equal points are split by number of wins, otherwise they share the place. There's also a Pub Score, where beating a stronger player counts for more than beating a weaker one.
Are there prizes?
No, bragging rights only.
Do I need to bring a board?
No. Boards and clocks are supplied.
